CBA Professional Development Application

(due by summer convention)

NOTE FROM ASTA:

Hello Instrumental Music Educators of Colorado!

Taking a moment to invite you to the Colorado ASTA Summer Conference – Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12 this year at the King Center on Auraria Campus. Come join us as we enjoy the beautiful setting of exciting downtown Denver, learn from each other’s expertise, and reconnect with old friends while making new ones. Have kiddos? Not to worry! I am exploring the option of having child care available during the conference. More info coming!

Attached is the conference registration form; you can print, fill-out and mail, or complete it electronically and email back to me. With proof of CBA Summer Conference registration, you pay NOTHING to come to the ASTA Summer Conference! For your convenience, you can pay any conference fees with a check or securely online via PayPal. Conference registration includes coffee and buffet breakfasts on both Monday and Tuesday morning (available in the King Center lobby). We are in need of presenters! Please consider giving a session. I also attached the session proposal form, which is due by April 30.

Exhibitors, attendees, and presenters are all invited to our Monday night Social Dinner at the Corner Office (1401, Curtis Street, Denver), at a cost of just $25 per person. A conference rate of $172 per night – before taxes – is available on a first-come, first-served basis at The Curtis Hotel (1405 Curtis Street, Denver – more info attached). This includes one king or two queen beds, complimentary wifi, and is within walking distance to the King Center, the Denver Performing Arts Center, and countless downtown attractions and restaurants. PLEASE NOTE: reservations at this reduced rate must be made by June 15. Parking options (during the day AND overnight) are both convenient and inexpensive at the Auraria Campus (http://www.ahec.edu/files/general/Parking-Map.jpg), though valet and garage parking is available at The Curtis at an extra charge. I will also have a varied list of lunch and dinner dining options available for you ASAP.

LASTLY: we will be offering our first annual Colorado ASTA Summer Olympics (you don’t wanna miss this!). We will also be able to issue certificates of contact hours for re-certification at the conclusion of the conference. More detailed information on this soon. I encourage you pre-register and come to the conference. Bring a friend! Bring your kids! Now is the time to be a part of Colorado ASTA and enjoy all of the benefits that our organization has to offer.

Call or email me anytime with questions or comments. I’m looking forward to meeting you in person!

Best Always,
