This new festival series is designed for bands from Small High Schools, Rural Schools or with developing programs / limited instrumentation; bands that would not typically go to the Regional Festivals are encouraged to participate in this festival! Outstanding judges with experience in Small or Rural band programs will offer recorded commentary and a clinic (in a separate room). Students will listen to other bands so that every group has a great audience.
IN ADDITION: Mid day masterclasses for students will be offered on every instrument! Students will have the opportunity to attend a session by a master performer / teacher and learn more about how to play their instrument. Directors may attend the masterclass of their choice, or a “directors session” which will cover several topics of interest to directors of small school / developing programs.
